After updating to Gnome 46, I am unable to login. When I enter the password in the login screen, it is stuck there. The desktop is not loaded.
Try again after restarting your device. This happened to me yesterday. A simple restart was all that was needed.
The issue seems to be related to gdm-prime which is not compatible with Gnome 46 yet. I removed gdm-prime and reinstalled gdm and it worked. However Nvidia optimus-manager doesn’t work with gdm. It needs the patched gdm-prime. Also many extensions are not yet compatible for Gnome 46. Will stick to Gnome 45 for now after rollback to a previous backup.
