Sticky, Lagging Input & CPU Spikes

System info:

Kernel: 6.12.1-arch1-1
Hardware: Framework 13
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7840U | Radeon 780M Integrated Graphics

CPU Core: 8

CPU Speed: 5.132GHz

DE: GNOME on Wayland

Noticing lagging inputs via external and on-board keyboards, touchpad and external mouse (connected BT).

Running system monitor while streaming video and normal activities shows some CPU spikes to 100 (!).

Hoping for some insight as to how I could further diagnose and track down an issue.

Edit: Working on Firefox and even typing this, noticing CPU bumps from 7% to 15% (reading from Stacer). 10% just from typing?

Thank you!

If I’m not mistaken AMD iGPUs are having issues with the latest kernel update to 6.12.1 and various sources could resolve the issue by reverting back to the latest 6.11 kernel.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately for me, looks like I don’t have 6.11 cached anymore. Just cleared the cache…

As an alternative … use the LTS kernel in the meanwhile ? It can’t hurt to have an backup kernel installed.

Indeed! I should keep that backup available, but I am now concerned how many packages I may have to downgrade!
