Steps to check for update errors

Hi community,

I am planning to install the fantastic EOS for family members and friends (switching from MX or Mint). I would be the only person to update EOS from time to time.

I have a long experience with DIY distros (Arch, Void, Alpine, Chimera) and I am currently running Artix myself. So it’s not really a problem to deal with update errors.

But how do you guys check if everything is ok? Is this sufficient:

  • Reboot.
  • Check web connection.
  • Check audio.

Asking, because some people I support live pretty far away

And very generally: Does it for this reason make sense to install flatpak apps instead of using pacman/AUR for most GUI software?

Your expertise and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you!

If happensdd by upgrade part a crash or freeze, paccheck --list-broken helps

Command probably not full lol

You need to use sudo with the command?

Edit: I guess depending on the circumstances. If logged into a tty under root not needed.
