Steam game not launching after Ganymede update

Hello. I updated my system this morning and now a Steam game I play, Football Manager Touch 2021, does not launch. On Steam, when I click the green PLAY button, it tries to launch but returns quickly to the same PLAY button. Obviously, the game was working perfectly before I updated.

The game does run if I remove my launch options in Steam, which are: LD_PRELOAD= gamemoderun mangohud %command% I need the preload option to avoid the Steam Overlay timebomb (https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/11446)

I can’t test too much properly because Denuvo locks me out if I change the parameters more than twice.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thanks.

There’s something up with MangoHud. Removing it from the launch options allows the game to run. Removing the LD_PRELOAD or gamemoderun still gave the error.

That’s the end of my testing for today thanks to Denuvo. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

Did you verify the game files within steam ? A week or 2 ago my duke nukem forever did not launch. Verified the game files and it downloaded a missing file. Since then no issues.

No, I didn’t do that and would prefer not to do that as it will break my mods and I’ll have to remember how to reapply them!

As noted the game launches without MangoHud. Could this be a Vulkan problem?

It would be worth finding out what’s changed here to stop this working, but I got things back up and running by removing MangoHub from my launch options and setting Goverlay to global enable. Hope this helps someone.
