Startup applications

I immediately apologize to everyone for the question that may seem rather stupid and obvious: how do you enter some applications at startup?

I’ve been looking all over the place, I’m starting to doubt my intelligence because I couldn’t find an answer so I was forced to open this post

I thank you all in advance

What desktop environment are you using?

If you are not able to find the solution yourself it is very likely you lack the technical vocabulary to express what you want to do.

Please elaborate a little what you are trying to do, maybe give a specific example.

If you want an application to start when you log into your desktop, the way to set this up will depend on your desktop environment. But it might be you want the system to start a service on boot, which would have to be set up very differently.
