Do you think Star Trek does exits ?

As much as I would like to think that Star Trek’s utopia is achievable, more older I get I tend to fall to the conclusion that we will end up to the future predicted by Babylon 5. :crystal_ball:

Although I love both series.

Never watched Babylon 5, but I agree. My hypothesis is we/humanity are not heading towards a utopia. :frowning:

Which blows, big time! LRL

I am still on season 1  but I look forward to getting here. Tomorrow I am gonna binge me some Strange New Worlds! I think if I recall I am on something like episode 4 or 5ish… I do enjoy this show though. It is very good.

SNW is my favorite of the recent ST spins.
Yes, I think I agree that Bab5 is more likely than ST. People are so very short-sighted and not concerned with long term consequences. Heck, we may never be able to leave our planet.
Maybe SGU is even more like it?

I have always been along the personal opinion that people/humans are naturally evil… rather than good. That is just my view of things, though. Just an opinion. The exception to this it seems to me is this forum (where everyone is super kind, compassionate, & whatnot).

I agree though very short-sighted, we, are…

I don’t actually think people are usually willingly evil, but that they’re just so darn self-centered.

Perhaps that is it. :-\

that would still be pretty coolz :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Well, in StarGate Universe, we see the base humanity, with greed, jealousy, murder, etc. So..yeah…
Also joyriding on a giant alien ship going we not not where…with no control…yeah.

I tried watching SNW, got as far as the episode, which was more of a fairy tale, wound me up, gave up (IIRC doctor’s kid in the transporter buffer). I find the whole thing a bit weak.
