You don’t have Windows installed on this too?
I do have windows installed on it, it works fine there its a linux issue : (
Okay go into Windows and make sure that the fast start up feature is turned off in power management. Then you might want to try what i suggested in post 78 again after disabling that in Windows.
I already did that too
EDIT: both in windows & bios
Well maybe you should tell us all what you have and have done. so we aren’t repeating it.
i thinks thats about all i did XD sorry if im bothering you this issue is just kinda annoying hopefully we can find a fix eventually LMAO
Ya …it’s not bothering me. It’s just that sound issues are so complicated sometimes.
I wonder if maybe if I switch Desktop enviornments maybe this desktop enviornment isnt working aswell as another might? idk thats all i can think of rn
If you are willing to try. It could be an issue with the install. I don’t know. Everything i have read points to that chip ALC294 Realtek is a problem but the answers i see are on Dual boot Windows disable fast start up feature in Windows not to be confused with fast boot in the Bios. Plus adding the options in the alsa conf file. That’s all i can seem to find.
I will potentially try and reinstall if nothing works
Okay that’s what i would do myself if it were me after I’ve tried all else i could find and think of. Not sure what desktop you are thinking? I run Kde Plasma mostly.
xfce
You just going to try a reinstall? Use the online install because it installs everything right up to date to right now.
probably we will see im gonna try searching around a bit more and try again and if that fails i will prolly just try base arch
Question. do sound work on iso ? i wonder
Honestly i don’t think base Arch is going to help you. EOS install everything directly from the Arch repos.
As @Shjim asks does the sound work on the live ISO?
hello, sorry yeah so the turns out the issue is due to dual boot because i reinstalled it, but whenever i boot into windows the audio just stops working. Im not sure what the issue is tbh.
As far as i know it’s the fast start up feature in Windows because it uses hiberfile. You want to disable that feature in Windows under power management.
I’m pretty sure it’s off I turned it off
EDIT : @ricklinux @Shjim @Stagger_Lee THE FIX IS STUPID BUT ITS TO SHUT MY LAPTOP DOWN COMPLETELY AFTER BOOTING INTO WINDOWS OR I HAVE TO PUT IT TO SLEEP sorry for all caps Im just excited its working I think this is an issue w dual booting but Ig I will have to live with it for now
