Sound does not work in the motherboard I/O

Description of the issue.

My headphones do not produce audio if they are plugged into the back of the motherboard (Line Out).

  1. It works fine in WIndows.
  2. My headphones work fine in the front I/O and on the output of my USB microphone.

This is the device in pavucontrol, it has a dropdown selection.

  1. Plugging and unplugging my headphones in the back (Line Out) is detected and displayed in pavucontrol properly (plugged in status)
  2. Selecting Line Out will mute the front I/O (headphones) as expected.
  3. No sound ever comes out of the back, regardless of which device is plugged in, or any selection I can make in pavucontrol.
  4. The Headphones device (front I/O) always shows up as plugged in for some reason, this could be relevant.
Hardware details CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X

Mobo: Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master
