[SOLVED] Okular Asking For Adobe Reader Update?

Why is Okular asking me to download the latest version of Adobe Reader?

Okular some kind of wrapper over Reader or a Reader component? Seems unlikely, but also seems the Occam’s answer.

Or a scripted message you are getting when trying to open some (newer?) Adobe-encoded/originated PDF?

That’s a weird one

WHat happens if you cancel. Does it continue to load or exit?

See this:

This actually comes from the PDF itself; PDF files can have little embedded scripts in them. The people who made that PDF added this script to it, because apparently they are dumb and seem to believe that Adobe Reader is the only PDF reader app in the world. You can safely ignore it.

No. Okular uses Poppler as the rendering backend.

I knew on on of those two spitballs could be correct. Nice find on the internal scripting.
