Did you try paru instead of yay? They should both work, but maybe paru shows a different output?
paru:
:: Looking for PKGBUILD upgradesā¦
:: Looking for AUR upgradesā¦
:: Looking for devel upgradesā¦
error: error sending request for url (``https://aur.archlinux.org/rpc``): error trying to connect: unexpected EOF
edit: different output indeed
Your yay and paru are not working, here they both work.
Not sure why, but could be many reasons.
Can you see the AUR page with a web browser?
plot thickens:
The connection has timed out
The server at aur.archlinux.org is taking too long to respond.
-
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
-
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computerās network connection.
-
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that LibreWolf is permitted to access the web.
āboth browsers

Some time ago someone posted a problem with his ISP because the ISP had changed the DNS server and forgot to update his router with the new settings.
