Solution for GNOME online accounts OneDrive "Location not mountable" error

TLDR: If you have connected your Microsoft 365 through the Online Accounts option in your GNOME settings and are trying to access OneDrive via GNOME Files (nautils) make sure you have the following packages installed: gvfs-goa, gvfs-dnssd and gvfs-onedrive.

Hello I wanted to share my solution to access my OneDrive in Nautils (GNOME’s file manager) since I couldn’t find a clear answer elsewhere. First after linking my MS 365 account I didn’t see anything appear in GNOME files until I found the solution to that on the Arch Wiki.

After installing the gvfs-goa and gvfs-dnssd packages my linked email now appeared on the left side panel in Nautils ready to be mounted. However when I attempted to mount it I got an error stating that the “Location is not mountable”. I eventually figured out I also needed to install the specific gvfs-onedrive package in order for it to be mounted successfully.

I am now able to access my OneDrive from my file manager in GNOME and it seems to be syncing correctly with a test file I created and deleted with the changes reflecting both on onedrive.live.com and locally on Nautils.

I hope this post helps anyone having a similar issue.
