Smokin 'buds' no longer smoke. .

I’ve got a pair of wireless bluethooth headphones that worked really well in KDE plasma. For no apparent reason beyond my own insights (limited as they may be). . . . I cannot pair my headphones anymore using the bluetooth apps. The pair keep disconnecting after they connect. Can’t figure that out. . .

What would help in discovering the issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Can those buds be successfully paired with another device? Try your phone, or a tablet or so. Maybe they are broken.

I would try using the bluetoothctl commands to first list the devices, remove them and then clear them from being trusted. Put the controller in discoverable mode and try going through to pair, trust connect etc…

Open bluetoothctl

sudo bluetoothctl

List currently paired devices

devices

Remove each device by it’s MAC address

 remove [device_MAC_address]

Clear all trusted devices

trust 0

Put the controller in discoverable mode

discoverable on

Device visibility:

Ensure your Bluetooth device is in pairing mode and visible to your system before attempting to re-pair.

After re-pairing, you might need to explicitly “trust” a device again using bluetoothctl trust [device_MAC_address] if necessary for certain functionalities.

If you encounter issues, check your Bluetooth hardware configuration and ensure the bluez service is running properly.

Thanks @ricklinux for your help. Yes, I removed all MAC addresses that may have been causing the conflicts. I’ve got the earbuds working once again. . . . . I generally jump from desktop speakers to headsets from time to time. (I’ve got earbuds and headphones that need to be paired from time to time and I have conflicts occasionally. My wife’s smart watch sometimes end up on my system from time to time also. Anyways everything seems to be working once again.

Thanks for you concise info. .
