Hey,
I need some help with Orca-Slicer and SuperSlicer.
I’ve installed several versions through AUR, but SuperSlicer crashes after a while, and Orca-Slicer gets stuck in the settings menu and becomes unresponsive.
I was advised to try the bin version of Orca-Slicer, but it behaves the same way. I briefly tried the AppImage version of Orca-Slicer, from their website, and it works fine, but I don’t know much about AppImage. I’m unsure how to save my settings or keep my system organized so it doesn’t end up messy like a Windows setup.
I’ve searched around and found that many others have issues with these slicers. I’ve tried some suggested solutions, but none have worked for me.
Since others seem to have made it work, I suspect I might be missing a dependency or something similar.
Additionally, it takes several hours for yay
to compile Orca-Slicer when downloading one of the git versions.
What I usually do:
I usually download programs via my package manager or directly from source and compile them myself. However, I’m unfamiliar with these programs and don’t know how to troubleshoot issues when compiling them.
The Challenge:
This whole process feels like a rabbit hole with my printer. It’s overwhelming, and I feel like I’ll never finish learning about the printer if I keep diving into these issues.
Question:
Do you have any ideas on how I can resolve these slicer issues? I’d really appreciate some guidance to point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance!
