I installed EOS with root on another drive. And a section of /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
says to include shutdown, fsck and usr under the HOOKS section.
I don’t know “how” do I add these to it. Like what lines are to be added to the file, because I am a newbie. If someone could list it?

Just open /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
with sudo nano
like so sudo nano /etc/mkinitcpio.conf
.
Then you find the line that looks like below.
HOOKS=(base udev autodetect keyboard modconf block filesystems resume fsck)
You can add the hooks within the brackets. But please double-check first. And then rebuild the initframes using sudo mkinitcpio -P
.
