Shutdown does not work

I click shutdown but it doesn’t shutdown. The screen turns black. When I move the mouse to the top left corner it does the usual KDE thing: show all the windows only this time it’s just one black screen.

Also it doesn’t shutdown even if I leave it overnight.

This command works without issue: systemctl poweroff

Can you confirm if it’s an issue in both X11 and Wayland?

You might also try (from here):

System settings > Session > Desktop Session, [select] ‘Start with an empty session’ and reboot

Only happens in X11. Only when “When session was manually saved” was enabled in “Desktop Session”.

I switched to X11 from Wayland because I noticed weird graphics errors (I have an old graphics card GT 710).
