This is nice. It is even vdsl. Is that what you are running on? DSL?
Yes I use DSL. I have no other option here. Maximum 50Mbit down.
On the other side of the road there is fiber optic.
That’s how it is in Germany
Yes i am on fibre optic now at 1.8 Gbps. But many years ago we had mostly dsl and I am very familiar with it. I use to hook up computers and install dsl modems both external and internal pci cards. We are talking back in the Windows 95 & 98 era. Not much dsl is used here but there are still some areas that use it. Even most phone is VOIP.
Edit: It’s a very nice looking DSL modem compared to what we used back then and even today I don’t see many that are as nice as this.
I still use a Linux Sat Box from AX (AXMultiTwin). I have connected it to the FritzBox to stream (IPTV or HBBTV). For my needs 50mb are quite sufficient.
You can see the specifications of the FritzBox here.
It is number one here in Germany
Yes i already looked at the specs and is nice. Like i say i used to use DSL for a long time. There were a few iterations of DSL and VDSL is good. I run everything off of FibreOptic now. My modem runs both Internet and TV which is hooked to a an HD TV box. I don’t have 4K and don’t care about it. Eventually if i have to get a new TV it will most likely be 4k but I have no intention of changing my TV converter to 4K unless i have to. I’m still using the older model HD that i just replaced recently. I gave up my phone line long ago and went cellular as i don’t like VOIP phones.
good phone, almost makes me want to switch from my iPhone 11
cool!
Yet another valve cover for this POS Chevrolet Cruze. These junk PCV valve goes out every few. Good old American made cars. . . I wonder where the town of Poland is though. . .
And together again.
Why do you have to change the valve cover?
i love them too but more into the original!
Because Chevrolet in their infinite dumbass wisdom thought it would be a good idea to manufacture the PCV valve into a non serviceable part built into the valve cover.
I hope Detroit burns.
Oh so it’s not a replaceable pcv? That is really a bad design.
It is. . .
You change the valve cover
Did I mention I hate this car?
no one came up with an aftermarket valve cover with a separate PCV valve?
Technically, even if I did find it, it would almost assuredly not be CARB compliant, in which case when they popped the hood to do an emissions test, I would fail and the car would no longer be registerable in California.
I just replaced my cpu cooler from SilentiumPC Fera 3 to Noctua NH-U12A. It is a little overkill for the i7-7700 that it is supposed to cool down. At least I can lower the fan speed now.
The centre pillar of my computer chair broke last week with me sitting on it …
Replacement = £30 even though the chair was almost 15 years old. It is still made. And someone came round, installed it and replaced a couple of bearings which had worn!
Built-in obsolescence through non-serviceable parts or just plain deception and trickery really annoys me.
That was why I switched to iPhone - I got an iPhone 13 Mini and will keep it going until it breaks too badly to repair or security updates stop being produced which, on Apple’s current behaviour, is in 6-7 years’ time.
I bought the NH-D15S. I wonder what the significant difference is? Mine is for AM4 Ryzen 5800X which the NH-U12A is also called out for.
I cannot give you any comparison since I do not have D15 cooler. But one main difference is 120mm fans on U12 vs 140mm fans on D15. What I saw in some reviews D15 will have better performace at around 800-1000 RPM yet 600 and 1600 RPM range was almost identical.
Since I am trying to cool down 65W TDP processor (~83W power consumption under 100% turbo boost according to s-tui) I do not think the excess performace will be very visible.
I was planning to build a new system in mini ITX and D15S fan will not fit there. Now I am just testing the fan in my current system to decide if it is good enough or if I have to go with a water cooler instead. So far it looks good.
pretty silent as well, no? I have the arctic freezer esports but it tends to get a bit loud at times.
