You have an i7 in your X230. I am jealous.
Two tips: the m2 slot will accept an mSATA SSD which provides very cheap fast storage, and there was a BIOS update in 2020.

What kind of racing do you do! setup looks great man
Actually thereās no M2 slot on the X230, only the older mSATA portsā¦
When I opened it up earlier today, I saw that the second slot was occupied by a WWAN card.
A bit of research also pointed out that the mSATA is slot in there is only rated at Sata2 speeds, whereas the regular SATA drive bay operates at sata3 speedsā¦
So I just left the WWAN Card in there, and left my mSATA SSD in the T420
Edit: @jonathon also take a look at https://1vyra.in
It let me get rid of Intel Management Engine, removed whitelists, and unlocked all hiden bios menuās
Project Cars 2 is my go to, but I donāt use it as often as I should because I havenāt managed to get it working on Linux so I have to boot into windows to play
I do like the Font used on the caps //typewriter//
I used to do a lot of drifting in Assetto Corsa! Havenāt tested it on Linux yet thoā¦
Also I really, really need a handbrake lol
My old AMD Bulldozer based home media server died this morning. So I went out and bought a new Motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I will miss its on board floppy connector and onboard EIDE connector. I decided to go with a Ryzen 3, Gigabyte Aorus Motherboard, and only one stick of 8gb DRR4 3200 RAM. It was so nice to install Linux and not have to worry about installing drivers. I will say that I will be getting another 8gb stick next month. After the integrated GPU takes the RAM it needs, I am left with 5.8gb. Did I spend too much on the motherboard? Yes, but I needed the 6 Sata ports. It also has 2-M.2 slots. So in the end, I can fit up to 8 drives in the system.
I also bought a new monitor for my gaming rig. (I did this before a couple of days before the server died) Once it comes in and is setup, I will post a picture here.
Got myself a Keyboardio Atreus, as I was sick of typing on my laptop keyboard. This is an ortholiniar keyboard with 44 keys, three layers and mechanical keys with brown switches.
Iām too old to try that form factor! Looks neat though - and may well be better than a laptop!
What I wish had happened is that Logitech had taken their āwaveā form factor, and done a mechanical versionā¦ (sigh) Comfortable and logical for Home End PgUp and PgDn and Deleteā¦
Something about old dogs and new tricks, huhā¦
Truth be told, it does take some getting used to and for now my wpm are taking a hit. Should be fine again in (hopefully) a month or so.
Is that made for keeping it in your lap? Thatās how I type anyway, so I might look into it.
It isnāt, but that does not mean you canāt! It is really really small though (but the keys are full size). Keyboard.io is where you can find the thing.
How does Space feel? Seems uncomfortable to have it as a normal button and not a bar.
Also, are keys replaceable/remapable? Iām dominantly left-handed and use space exclusively with my left hand.
Overall looks like an interesting keyboard.
Keys and switches are replacable and everything is remappable. All open source too! Take a look at their site.
Space takes some getting used to, but nothing too bad.
what about the āfunā key? does it make everything more fun? can you simply add fun to a sentence by pressing that key?
It was a fun key or the any key. As I donāt want to Homer Simpson my way through the day, it became the fun key.
Everything is better with a fun key.
That reminds me I have a keyboard coming! Keycaps from China - left the depot in China this night, just landed in France according to FedEX. The rest is coming from Spain. I ordered it a week ago and so far itās made it about half way thru spain
Just upgraded my production desktop from Intel to AMD:
Superduper happy hippo now!
PS: Who said gurlz donāt need good hardware?
Any audio lovers here?

As I mentioned in my last post, I ordered a new monitor for my Gaming-Rig. It is an Gigabyte M27Q. A 27" 1440p monitor with a 170hz IPS panel and a built in KVM switch. Link to manufacturerās website. The colors are amazing. Very little ghosting when playing games. Anyways, here is a crappy picture I took with my cell phone.
