It was nice knowing you bud.
Good joke and all, but the real villains are the users who never donate.
This is actually funny (ironic - not hilarious), though. The above just has to be said.
Donations are called donations for a reason. Unless make them paid service, possible with FOSS license.
I think I missed the drama. What did Firefox do?

Donations to the Mozilla Foundation do not support Firefox development, but rather go to “education and advocacy efforts”. Per the Donations FAQ on their website
Firefox is maintained by the Mozilla Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mozilla Foundation. While Firefox does produce revenue — chiefly through search partnerships — this earned income is largely reinvested back into the Corporation. The Mozilla Foundation’s education and advocacy efforts, which span several continents and reach millions of people, are supported by philanthropic donations.

Let’s try to understand your logic here.
Logic #1:
Let’s say Mozilla decides to drop Firefox and leave it up to the open source community to maintain the web engine, add new features, etc., where will the money for development come from? You know, seeing as the money donated to Mozilla doesn’t support the development of Firefox.
Logic #2:
Or are you just using the wording to say something like, “It’s not exactly accurate to say donating to Mozilla funds Firefox development. It funds other things related to the open source internet, rather than only Firefox. So, again, it’s not an accurate statement to say that people should donate to Mozilla to fund Firefox.”?
Logic #3:
Explain if you want.
