Although, technically speaking, I think kronism or filial cannibalism in spiders - where mothers/fathers eat their own children - is near zero (mothers eating their own eggs is possible with truncated parental investment) but any non-zero rate of offspring cannibalism in spiders is a chance rather than adaptive strategy, because species strategizes against filial cannibalism actively to favour kin selection.
Its possible mothers or fathers may eventually cannot recognise their own children as they dispersed and matured, but its not attributable as deliberate cannibalism or any active strategy. Note that within the mothers, there actually exists strategies for reproductively active females to deliberately go into kind of shutdown mode of their cannibalism tendencies (towards eating juvenile spiders or not) so as to not accidentally eat their own kin even if they cant recognise their kin (usually its via airborne chemical cues I believe) vs others kin during their state of reproductive phase termed as Temporal-based kinship recognition
I dont think father spiders can even recognise their offspring as females even try as almost none of father spiders stay around their mates after mating anyway (nor they can even get signal its their offspring even if they found their mate eggs as with poly mate choices), to even learn that recognition signal aka if any children eating is completely accidental decision over cannibalism; also any documentation of male filial cannibalism is about conspecifics and not their own children. Aka male spiders ate juveniles of their species but there is no documentation so far that those are their exact children nor we know whether they ate them within the window of last mating to eaten child age (to know whether this temporal signal to male also exists - whether it could be their child given my behaviour window and prey age) and I dont think there is any answer to either of them.
