Hmmm - could that be why I stick with XFCE (top bar + left 'Plank")? Top down and left-right rules for English-speaking trained personnel…

Not docklike plugin?

Plank is a dock, and usable at any side you choose. Myscreen works best with top panel, left dock, right and leftish background conkys

Docklike plugin also works in xfce in wayland session, pantheon-dock follow up doesnt work in hyprlznd

Docklike plugin use own xfce panel

my OpenSuse setup has been modified with my new battery conky.

have ‘hopped’ this distro many times but never more than a couple days. what’s it like as far as sensibilities of ease of use etc? It always struck me as a complete OS (like Endeavour or Solus etc) and not a tinkerer type thing. It always had eye-appeal.

I always thought OpenSuse was a great distro. I mainly left because at the time they didn’t have tumbleweed and I needed something that supported a bit newer hardware at the time and OpenSuse didn’t have support for it but I found out Fedora did and well yum was much better than zypper. Which zypper still sux but it’s consistent. I mean its not a bad package manager just the slowest. Then I discovered Antergos and the rest is history sorta lol. I just wanted to give it a look in the laptop I however got the other laptop around the same time so besides making the intial battery conky that you see in the picture above I haven’t spent a lot of time in it. I plan to do so more over the next few days as I figure out exactly how I want to set up the gifted on.

zypper, yes, I remember. Everytime I see Tumbleweed I want to give it another try. Fedora for me was unbelievably stable, mature, reliable…and a little dull ultimately. It doesn’t offer the experience Endeavour does–you literally live on the edge in an Arch base sometimes, but I always wondered where OpenSuse fell on that scale. Thanks for indulging me.

Hi i never try sway. But i Hate i3 . Low Hyprland … but now im loking for diferent “hyperland” … i just hate they dev … almost every time i update it broke something because thery remove or change how some fuction work …

Its same thig with waybar → realy hate after using with hyperland (before yesterday laptop change) i even youse hyprland witout waybar  becaus of that … now looking for something else (even thing about tilling plasma  .

Because i dont want waybar and i dont want go back to X11 .

Any ideas ?

Yeh and no completly new stuff (still in under heavy development) dont want to change my config every week.

EDIT: Btw Dpi scaling is still OK only in Plasma or it works even in other “desktops” … becaus new laptop is 2.5K on 16" its too small (when i tested i3 endeavour OS yesterday) → it was yous test install for looking how it will look if i dont apply any dpi scaling .

you should try sway, i love it

My first attempt to configure my Linux system. Its based on KDE but i felt really inspired from Hyprland visually and added Krohnkite to enable tiling, since i never used a tiling window manager, i wanted to start with a floating window manager to have the option to effortlessly switch back if i don’t like it.
Replaced the standard bar with polybar and all menus are rofi scripts. Really like it so far!

I like a fairly clean plasma desktop

On the desktop…

More fiddling with Panel Colorizer (top panel), icon change to Kora, more minor Klassy tweaking, wallpaper change.

I love the bright breeze theme.

Trying out Gnome 47 beta.

The biggest change that I noticed was the first iteration of accent color selection for Adwaita. It seemed to work well, except not all applications picked up on the accent color choice.

I’d love to use Conky for battery stats, but there’s a bug with Logitech MX Keys Wireless keyboards, - they are only reported as 50% regardless of charge level. Issue on Mac too… :frowning:
