I am a fan of visible cursors myself. No matter what DE I use I stick to Breeze Amber theme. It is visible and has a natural vibe to it :D.

Hey @Beardedgeek72 seems like we have similar tastes in icons and maybe similar workflow. I rely on drop-down terminal a lot. I even have quake style shortcut added to it (Ctrl+`). I’ve removed borders and hidden tabs bar when there is only one tab open for the drop-down terminal to maximize use of screen space.

After more than a year using dark themes I’ve switched back to light, because I was tired of dealing with poorly integrated apps like browsers which refused to play nice with dark themes.
If you want the icons to be a little more aired try adding this to your .config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css file (if you implement this change it will make the icons smaller and you will have to change the icon size in panel settings to something larger than what you usually have, so it will compensate):

window.xfce4-panel widget > button#whiskermenu-button image,
window.xfce4-panel widget > button#pulseaudio-button > image,
window.xfce4-panel widget > button#showdesktop-button > image,
window.xfce4-panel widget > box > button > image{
   -gtk-icon-transform: scale(0.6);
}

Also the following rule will add a hover effect to the launcher buttons. uncomment the box-shadow rule if you want to have an underline on hover (make sure to change the color to yor theme’s accent color).

window.xfce4-panel widget > button#whiskermenu-button:hover,
window.xfce4-panel widget.tasklist button:hover,
window.xfce4-panel widget > button#pulseaudio-button:hover,
window.xfce4-panel widget > box > button:hover{
   background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.13);
  /* box-shadow: 0 -2px rgba(46,179,152, 0.5) inset;   */
}

The theme I am using for the window decorations is “Cyanogen”, I like it because it is flat and has wide borders which help a lot with resizing the windows (gives you a larger area to grab the window border).

Thanks for the tip - I found it in the AUR, and it looks good so far. I wish I could get it larger, though.

There is a size setting. It is even visible in the screenshot i posted just a few posts above.

Yeah - the setting is there… but it can’t do much for me! I run it at 48, and would really like some more, but it doesn’t seem to be possible to have more recognized as a valid setting. It’s actually not that bad (now that I have it to 48) but more is more :grin: There are occasional downsides to 3840x2160 screens!

You aren’t using any display scaling?

There are a real mish-mash of display settings in use here, but it is not fine-grained enough to be easy. I run at 120 dpi for fonts, follow the Archwiki advice on hi-dpi:

export GDK_SCALE=2
export GDK_DPI_SCALE=0.5

and kick up font sizes as needed. It’s weird, but mostly it works. I suppose I could have set the display properties, but few allow anything but whole number changes (though some have added it). Unity was good on this, latest Gnome is now OK etc etc. I have a 28"" screen, which is in between being big enough for highest res, and so small as to need full scaling!

New to EndeavourOS
Never had much time to clean things up yet or really play for all that matter, but here’s a little taste of EndeavourOS on VirtualBox.

Simple and beautiful. I love the black background.

Could it be some tone of grey?
