Would only be nice not to have to fear a break again and again. Have tried GNOME, find it terrible, Xfce is for me only a fallback, if nothing more should go, wm’s are not so my thing … so plasma ftw. But I’m digressing from the topic again … the thought police will come soon …
Hahaha, all good buddy, basically what works for the user is best in my opinion
look interesting . i been read about it + might try it , I normal like simple bar + polybar work ok for my need, still think it good try new thing . for share your screen shot

so I would try it and will learn more
since I have been using polybar for a long time
will learn something new
I hate my Raspberry Pi. I hope you have a better experience than I have had with mine. It’s going back on the shelf for another year before I look at it again.
Why you hate? It good for what it is + should no compare to pc / laptop . I interested what model + what you install on it
I think so too! I don’t expect any stellar performance of it. So it doesn’t disappoint me. Rather on the contrary. For what it is it performs quite OK.
Mine hadn’t been used for some time now too. I had been thinking to start using it and do a fresh EnOS ARM installation before I learnt that a new RPi OS was released with a 64-bit version So I wanted to try it. So far so good.
where did you get the wallpaper? that is D0P3
it a MOD i do on old wallpaper.
gotcha, it is kool
Rpi4 4gb. I got it right when they first came out. I had pre order it.
I’ve tried debian, rpiOS (32+64bit), EOS (32+64), Ubuntu, SUSE I think, Manjaro, just about every distro available.
I’ve used it on a SanDisk extreme 10 microsd, Samsung 3.1 USB and my latest on a WD black NVme.
I have an Argon one case and the heavy duty Argon charger.
All I wanted it to do was play football games in my garage (one browser).
I thought I finally got it close to working adding the heavy charger and over clocking it on RpiOS32. .
But after I turned it off and came back the next day, it said that the installation could no longer be found. Literally nothing works well on the thing.
EOS was terrible.
Pretty much trying to play anything on it - YouTube music or video, sports, basically any media, htop shows 100% CPU, like 1000mb of ram usage and I get stuttering really badly.
Every year I try again, and every year I end up just using my laptop, getting frustrated with it and putting it bank in my tool box for another 3-6 months before I repeat the process.
I got so fed up with it a year or two back I even offered to mail it to pudge as a donation.
i sorry hear that. guess it have fault, i had no problem like on my old pi4. Full DE’s lag little until i over clock, Wm’s run better + that all i use . shame you have bad xp.
It’s not been great. I’m actually thinking it’s defective at this point. It’s been way too long to return it though.
I may be mailing it to a buddy of mine. I bought the Thinkpad dock for the garage, it should be here today. The Thinkpad > everything.
actually… the video playback stutters sound familiar…
it’s been over a year since i tried running anything else than retroarch on mine,
but back in the past when I did try to use it as a computer, streaming media didn’t run smoothly… even at 720P (unless heavily overclocked)
i overclock my old pi4 2Ghz ( must have good fan ) i do try higher no for long ( that another story ) 555555 . it ok at 1080 ( no perfect ) ,smooth at 720 again better much on WM’s. Guess we all have different xp .
EDit it no match for wonderful Pinebook Pro ( for what it is ) I have new pi4 come in mail soon
I’d love a pinebook but they’ve been out of stock forever.
it screen shortage . if go on pine64 forum there alway people sell ( that only way you get one ATM) . most buy for wrong idea ( replace older laptops )
Edit… again it great for what it is . ( screen from other day )
