I think that is easier? I did it with Antergos!

Edit: But then i’ll only have 99.9% Arch

That’s too easy - just do pure Arch, then add the EndeavourOS repo! I already do that!

It can be seen in the serenity of the final result!

At least you finally figured out you don’t actually use Arch at that point. Well done. Explaining it as 99.99% Arch seems unnecessary though when you could just say you run Endeavor. Unless you’re ashamed to admit to it, which would be disappointing for a moderator.

We have two right statements about EnOS

99% Arch

in the viewpoint of Arch people

and

101% Arch

in mine(our's)

Don’t forget that  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I would say I run 101% Arch ( 110% for manjaro :innocent: )

per definition of the owners of arch, it is only arch if you install it the arch way. There is nothing we want and can do about that.
EndeavourOS is 100% endeavour based on arch

As Karasu said: we don't take away a single comma (Antergos)

But add something :hugs:

Are you ashamed to say you use 100% EndeavourOS and why, I don’t look down on you as if you are some sort of what ever be proud to say you run 100% EndeavourOS. You installed it the EndeavourOS way did you not its 100% the way you installed it,

Now you have bragging rights " I installed it the EndeavourOS way" :100:

I simply stated 100% EnoS=99%/101% Arch^

And yes

I Am Proud To Say I Use (100%) Endeavour OS

even though Firefox spellchecker says Endeavour is wrong :hugs:

^ I really have a habit of saying confusing things . So it’s better to let me explain ( and make it more complicated :grimacing: )

BTW, I use approximately 98.8755% Arch1.

1 On this computer, that is. To be specific, out of 1245 native (i.e. non-foreign) packages, 14 are from the endeavouros repo. 1 āˆ’ 14/1245 ā‰ˆ 0.988755

Spell check my worst enemy at times because i’m dyslexic :grinning:

EndeavourOS is great in all its dimensions.
Nothing can be said about this distribution, its developers do not have infulas. They are one of the community and that cannot be said of other distros. Therefore the simple is always what succeeds and stays in time.

That’s the only reason I can figure someone would say they run Arch when they actually run Endeavor.

You could do the math out if you really want. But the percentage is completely irrelevant. It’s either Arch or it’s not. Extremely simple. The joke came up a bit ago because there was a mod claiming to run 100% Arch when he actually used Endeavor.

And there it is. Thanks!

You my friend are just ilogicaly trying to be a smart ass, Only joking

On your terms if a user has just one package from AUR then they are not running Arch Linux?

On my terms I run Arch installed the Arch way, :100:

I also run EndeavourOS intalled the Endeavour way :100:

Also run Fedora installed the fedora way. :100:

Also run MAC Catilina installed the hackintosh way that makes it :100: hackintosh Catilina not 99% Mac.

@anon63071375, that’s true. According to folks on the Arch forum, you either run Arch if you installed it the Arch WayTM or you don’t, and I think that should be respected.

I do like the ā€œBTW, I use 99.99% Archā€ meme, though

I specifically foresaw this comment and carefully worded my post so as to prevent it:

Unfortunately, I haven’t foreseen you not reading it carefully. Oh well… :man_shrugging:t3:

About 85.9154% of that statement is true1.

1 I genuinely do try my hardest to be logical.

Actually, there’s even install scripts in their repos. An install script doesn’t necessarily make it not Arch, it just doesn’t entitle you to get/ask for help from the forums. You can still run Arch even if you didn’t follow the wiki. It’s your system, and can do whatever you want with it. The point is if you’re asking for help it needs to be yours, not someone else’s. An install script doesn’t make that true anymore.

71% of all statistics are made up.

I have also had PacBang installed for 4 years now and I am very proud of it.
(by Mandog and Carl Duff)

Not mine, though. I actually computed that based on character count. I counted the misspelled word ā€œilogicalyā€ as 9 characters (+1 for the space, so 10, resulting in 61/71), which is the part I consider false.
