Setting EurKey Layout as system default

Hi, im trying to set the EurKey Layout system wide.

I can set the layout in any desktop with
setxkbmap eu
which works fine, but i would have to set it in any desktop i use.

As is understand the place to do that system wide is /etc/default/keyboard, but I’m not sure what layout to put there.

Listing any Layouts or variants with
localectl list-x11-keymap-layouts localectl list-x11-keymap-options localectl list-x11-keymap-models localectl list-keymaps
does not list the eu keymap or an eu layout.

Any tips or is it not possible to set the EurKey Layout system wide?

If you’re using KDE Plasma, could it be as simple as making sure EurKEY has the highest position in the KDE settings?
