Hello,
I tried to use HDR in the games which support it. I have googled a lot, but there is no guide or wiki which lead me to the solution. There are many resources, but just a combination of them worked for me.
If i want to enable HDR and want my controller to work in gamescope via steam i have to enable HDR in the display settings in Plasma and
gamescope -W 3440 -H 1440 -f -r 165 --hdr-enabled env ENABLE_GAMESCOPE_WSI=1 DXVK_HDR=1 steam
if you replace steam with heroic or lutris HDR works in every game i tried.
If have tried a lot of different combinations of input arguments in steam, but this was the only way to get it to work properly. Wine 9.0 should work with the input argument DXVK_HDR=1, but if I set it, in heroic for Horizon Zero Dawn, the HDR option can be enabled, but the if I enable it, the screen turns black after a while it is back and HDR disabled again. If i pass the argument in Elden Ring, i can enable HDR but the colors are way to white and i can’t reduce them to a proper level. I think it’s some sort of problem with the combination of Wayland and HDR but i am not sure.
If somebody was able to pass an input argument and environmental variable and get it to work, help would be much appreciated, but i am exhausted of trying, cause the solution above works and gives me controller support and proper working HDR, even if it is not the way i would prefer it.
