Seperate /data drive

Guys,

The result of a fascinating read on another active thread re: btrfs/snapshots led me to this question …

With a default full disk encryption setup, can I simply just resize the encrypted / partition via a live session, and then create a seperate /data drive with the newly opened disk space?

I don’t do encryption but I guess you would need to decrypt the partition first before attempting to resize it in a live session.

Makes sense - quite a few times with non-encrypted drives, not yet with a fully.
