I recently left Windows 11 behind and installed EndeavourOS and so far it has worked really well.
I do have one problem: Secure Boot keeps turning back on randomly, so when I start up my laptop I have to keep my fingers crossed.
Sometimes it instantly shows me GRUB, and sometimes it shows a black screen with the PC audibly restarting itself (sound of the fans), before showing “Secure Boot Failed” which forces me to force shutdown the PC and launch it into BIOS to turn Secure Boot off again.
I have searched online but haven’t found anything about this particular problem (only the opposite problem of Secure Boot turning off randomly), so I turn myself to this community for help.
I will gladly provide any necessary information if it’s required to solve the problem.
Thank you in advance to anyone who will dedicate a little bit of their time to help solve this problem.
Sorry for the late reply, I didn’t expect such a quick answer.
I can’t believe I didn’t think to check that, there is an update available.
I’ll try to install it and hope that fixes the issue.
This might be a long shot but replacing the bios battery sometimes solves this kind of issues.
The reason might be that secure boot on is the default setting.
I finally had the time to work on my laptop again and after checking a bit more online I found some signs that my CMOS battery was dead, so it seems fred666 is right. I’m waiting for a replacement battery to arrive and I’ll try replacing it once I have the time.
