Search indexed files

Hi, perhaps stupid question…But how can I search for indexed files? I have installed Cinnamon as DE. In the past I used Ubuntu, which uses tracker3 for indexing files. Search was therefore very fast.

After some research I read that catfish is good for searching files and its content. Catfish is already installed and is also finding pdf files when searching for content. But extremely slow. Also when searching again for the same file after first search it takes a while. It looks like, there is no indexing in the background. How can I enable it?

Catfish has mlocate as optional dependency. You might want to install it and enable its timer:

sudo systemctl enable updatedb.timer

Hopefully it will speed up the search in Catfish.
