Screen artifacts with new installation

Hi. I was recently forced to reinstall my custom archlinux and I decided to go for EndeavourOS. I have clean installation now and I am getting arcifacts on my external HDMI monitor (see screenshot). I have never had such problems on my previous system. I have hybrid notebook with Intel and Nvidia cards, but I don’t want to use nvidia driver, because when I am using it, my CPU goes crazy for some reason giving me 100% usage all the time even when system is completely idle. Is there some way to get rid of this artifacting while not using nvidia drivers? Thanks a lot

From my experience, the external monitor looks crap with nouveau driver on hybrid graphics. The only way I get a good image and acceleration with no tearing is to install the Nvidia driver. You can easily install it, try it out and if problematic remove it…

The problem with your cpu was that in arch or EOS?

What’s your Nvidia graphics card?

Please post output of inxi -G

I also suggest trying lts kernel…

Try removing xf86-video-intel.

Wow, removing it indeed solved my problem, everything works perfectly now. Thanks a lot

Problem with CPU was on both, it started I think with kernel 5.15. That is not a problem for me, with integrated graphics everything works like a charm

Did not know this trick… Could be marked as solved then?
