I am never able to save new settings to X configuration file in nvidia-settings app. App says it cant open the file, /etc/X11/xorg.conf. How to do it?
Use sudo?

I guess old habits die hard. You are of course correct. I am so used to using gui apps I almost never start apps from terminal unless its a terminal app itself. sudo nvidia-settings let me save it. One thing about it though; it said it wasnt saved when I closed app, but the changes stuck when I rebooted.
