Using KDE, installed Rygel from the AUR. Adding folders to share, MKV files are not showing up when I access the server. They’re all h264, MP4 are there, but no MKV.
Using an old media player, but also tried VLC on a Windows PC. No MKV files on either.
Rygel relies on DLNA for sharing and so on the client side will only show files that it believes your playback device is capable of actually playing, or files that the server side can transcode to a format that the device will be capable of playing.
Do you know the codecs your mkv’s have been encoded with, and if they are supported by Rygel?
H264. The MP4 are also H264 and the seen and playable.
Like I posted, VLC on a Windows PC can’t see them either
