This is very cool.
It’s one of my favourite periods of history to study, I think because I was born in a place called Wallsend, which is in the North East of England. It’s literally where Hadrian’s Wall (Google it) ends.
We had lot’s of school outings to study the wall, it was a great introduction to history and definitely sparked a lifelong interest.

I remember studying a little about Wallsend in England and the Roman Empire when in College in 1973. . .Interesting stuff indeed. . .

note the demarcation line i.e. the roads in Europe that never went north, just a wavy straight line til the water. Wonder if that is all mountainous?

Also interesting: no Roman presence in Ireland.

Cool. There’s a lot of interesting history in that part of England. Northumberland is beautiful, lakes, castles, rivers, ocean… I love it there.
