"Replace endeavouros-theming with endeavouros/endeavouros-branding" message in eos-update

yay after trying eos-update --aur

Interesting. So the outdated mirror theory still seems the best guess…

Bit of a strange thing though after the update I lost my autologin.
Searched for SDDM in the system settings and clicked on SDDM next, and then on behaviour to tick the autologin box (just in case someone has the same problem).

could be an issue with the old package used for initial theming of sddm.
It is now replaced with a dedicated theme for sddm.

More oddities. I just logged in to my laptop. Ran yay, and was offered the update in question. Mirror list on my laptop and PC are identical. No idea why I had to jump through hoops to get it on the PC.

Come to think of it that must be it , because on a second copy of KDE I have installed, on the same computer, there was no problem with the update at all. Oh well you live and learn I guess.

i will test … we had some filenames in use before that are also used by kde settings not 100% the smartest way to do.

just now is update, no error, all good.

thanks!

you had enabled autologin manually from kde settings ? or was it on initial install already?
Just tested and it will not remove the autologin setup if you had it enabled with installer already…

You can always reanable autologin ion sddm settings on kde settings tool …

Can confirm I have not see this in my updates the last 4-5 days, either

Did have the autologin enabled by the installer. But I tried to change the SDDM login screen to a different theme (Layan). Was getting some errors about missing files , and changed the theme back to default. Somehow there was some leftover from that action i guess, and that must have caused the problem (maybe).

it was added yesterday, but seems yay alone will not pull it in as izt is a package replace action could be a BUG on yay.
running sudo pacman -Syu will bake

I had this update and the new theme/theming/thing changed my sddm background image. so my question is that if I change the image to what I want is endeavouros-branding going to ask this every time it updates or was this one time thing?

The branding package changes the default background files, so each time this package changes, there may be a new background (or not).
If you want to have a stable background, one way is to use command

eos-wallpaper-set <path-to-picture-file>

got the Branding [Y/N] update this morning, all good, thanks for getting back.

Hi,

After applying this update, i can’t get to the desktop again.

I had the autologin enabled.

I have to use a snapshot and revert.
Could please someone assist?
Should you need other information please ask.

Thank you
