R.I.P. good ol' servant (thread for reminiscing broken tech and stuff)

Well, my wife’s wireless mouse finally broke down. She bought it on 2016, if I remember correctly, so it’s ten years. Quite a good run for modern tech.

that’s a good run with a mouse, had mine about 4 and i need to replace

RIP our old washing machine ~8 years old, welcome our new WIFI connected (WTF!) machine with more computing power than R2D2

Old machine was irrepairable, filled the kitchen with smoke, dead, dead, dead.

About to run it’s first batch… (:collision:)

when mine goes I just gonna use the tub again, only downside is drying taking longer

My missus is a clean freak, bath wouldn’t cut it for her, and we only have a shower

I will not expand then lol
All I gotta ask how does that logic work?

What logic?

Well gravity meakes all fall, no point takining the shower unless tou wanr what it has to offer, yer nahm this why I stay free (aka single I prefer sumple things that workf)

Ingonore mt current logic, it casued bt some head trauma mixed with red

I would rather have a bath, she sees it as soaking in your own 💩

I prefer a bath but I get her logic lol

Sorry if you were just joking but what is the WiFi for? Ordering more detergent?

So they can phone the machine and see if its done

I often feel like I do not belong in this realm of existence and I’m only in my 40s.

Man I can never see a use for my washing machahie to connect ot the internet, it an old twin tib and gets vo;oteny enough wothout outsode onfi;esshe (sorryy I got the doctor soon but touch typing has died in ky head) (went through and correct it but yer sorry for it)

stuff and more stuff lol

I would at the very least need it to be on a different vlan. I do not trust IOT even if they do update the firmware once and a while.

Umm I just gonna say do some reading, thias thinking wrong but I have 0 energy to explain, hpe when I get back on you have bbeen he;-rs

I haven’t a clue yet, been busy, if it starts ordering pizza, I will get medieval on it’s drum

It’s this one:

The old one really did a number on the load of washing, because of all the “wild” fires, we didn’t notice the smell, until it was bad (door was closed). Stuff was welded to the drum, it took all of my strength to rip it out.
