My system previously ran an nVidida card but is now all AMD. I have noticed that “nvidia-drm.modeset=1” is still set as a kernel option. Normally, I’d assume I no longer need it but, I do have libvdpau installed (and mesa-vdpau so it works with the AMD card). Given that libvdpau is identified as an nVidia library, do I still need to keep that kernel option? or can I get rid of it?
Just remove nvidia-drm.modeset=1
if you do not use Nvidia.
You should keep libvdpau
that is required by some useful dependencies, e.g ffmpeg
and mpv
.
