Qt6-multimedia-ffmpeg vs qt6-multimedia-gstreamer

Hi, I just wanted to run an update and pacman ask me to choose between qt6-multimedia-ffmpeg and qt6-multimedia-gstreamer.

Can someone help me to make an informed decision?

I saw a similar topic on the Arch. The user has installed that of ffmpeg and says that nothing has broken … but there are no explanations and I would prefer to make an informed choice rather than playing the “Russian Reulette”

It is just asking which backend you want to use for multimedia in qt applications.

I chose qt6-multimedia-ffmpeg but you can choose whichever you prefer. You can also switch later if it ever think you want to.
