Python-vdf-solstice-3.5-1 and python-vdf-3.4-3 are in conflict

Hi friends. I’m trying to update the protonup-qt app.

But I get this message about 2 python packages conflicting, and it asks me if I want to remove one of them.

Should I remove it, or this package might be used by other programs?

This is the first time I get this message, so I don’t know what to do.

Thanks in advance.

:: python-vdf-solstice-3.5-1 and python-vdf-3.4-3 are in conflict. Remove python-vdf? [y/N]

Either say “yes” or don’t install/update pythonup-qt. Since python-vdf-solstice is a dependency, those are really your only options.

Thank you very much, I’ve already updated it.

By the way, in these cases, changing one dependency for another, can cause problems in other packages, or would it only affect this package?

It could, yes.

In the case of changes coming from the repos, that is not likely, it is typically changes in packaging.

However, when the dependency is coming from the AUR, there is the possibility of breaking other packages.
