PSA: Xephyr broken after latest update

With the latest version of Xephyr (repo package: xorg-server-xephyr) I notice that it is completely broken on my system since yesterday’s update; which sucks because I use it daily for developing my window manager. I doubt many other people here use Xephyr, but if you do please stick to the current version. The new version seems to not recognize any input devices:

Therefore keyboard and mouse both do not function.

I submitted a bug report upstream @ arch: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/73274
I guess time to downgrade, I really need Xephyr.

Thank you for sharing.

I can’t replicate the issue. If I run e.g.:

Xephyr -br -ac -noreset -screen 800x600 :2
DISPLAY=:2 xterm

then I get the expected terminal showing up in the nested session, and I can type etc. as normal… :thinking:

Very interesting. Maybe it’s a hardware thing? I’ve tried it on both endeavouros and a fresh install of stock arch on a separate partition, i can reproduce the same issue on both.

edit: oh no I posted this on the arch bugtracker, but it says distro: endeavour os :sweat_smile:

Possibly - I’m running with NVIDIA 495xx only, not sure whether you might be affected by some Optimus/PRIME shenanigans…

Uh oh. And that’s after posting you were running stock Arch… :sweat_smile:

To be fair, I did test it on another partition with stock Arch :wink:

looks like someone else has the issue too.
