Hi all. Regardless of using the flatpak or the AUR Proton VPN doesn’t hit above 230Mbps down on Steam. My Bazzite install using the flatpak gets 500+ Mbps on the same hardware.
I have already added the Steam cfg file with the known fixes but it doesn’t change anything.
In Endeavour if I run a general speed test I get the expected speeds.
Any thoughts on fixing this?

Sorry for being vague, i remember a few years back there was a common issue where steam was unusually slow, download speed wise that could be fixed by installing a dependency or changing some setting, might want to start looking for that, basically the problem is fairly likely to be steam.
That said, you’re talking about 230mbps which is already quite fast.
Does steam download faster than that when you’re not using the VPN?
I think I may has sussed it out. I just added a single line @nClientDownloadEnableHTTP2PlatformLinux 0
and removed the second line of @fDownloadRateImprovementToAddAnotherConnection 1.0 in steam_dev.cfg . It still jumps around from 170 ish buts does reach 423 now.
I have a fiber line and without the VPN I get 700+ down, I know, first world problems.
