Probably a silly permissions question but can't figure it out

in budgie-solus there is a lock/unlock thingy embedded in the top bar.
Here there is none.
My printer is completely locked down from my grasp in endeavour.
How to remedy?
[yes, I did peruse the forum search function before posting ]

thank you.

got home from work a couple hours ago and I can’t even find info about this at the arch site so I shall keep seeking.

@drunkenvicar
I tested Solus Budgie and that of EOS. Both use budgie-screensaver 5.1.0-2(6) <-(Solus)
Use Super+L to lock and the functionality is almost the same except for that small lock icon at the top bar.
2.
I miss this authentication button in EOS budgie-control-center

As a workaround install the dangerous gnome-control-center and use it only for
adding printers.
In EOS User management authentication is OK, but has no effect on Printer management.
EDIT:
Updated with yay

extra/exfatprogs 1.2.1-1 1.2.2-1 0,00 MiB 0,06 MiB
extra/parallel 20230922-1 20231022-1 0,00 MiB 0,32 MiB
core/zlib 1:1.3-1 1:1.3-2 0,00 MiB 0,09 MiB

and problems seemed to be disappeared.

The tiny lock icon is present as well.
Thank to someone. :love_you_gesture:

ah…that is the gnome-control-center that is baked into Budgie?..I feel so stupid.
I think I did sudo pacman -Qdt (or something) in a -R orphan hunt…I was always wondering why it was was there all sad in the Arch useless list…?

gnome-control-center is something I usually have installed…it is more powerful than budgie settings, system settings, and dconf combined (for anything built on the gnome stack)…it would dictate Budgie dark theme and force it until Budgie 10.8.2 took that over.

I miss the lock icon too.
As far as your remedy: RIGHTEOUS, I am on it. I can’t thank you enough!
