Oh believe me I’m very familiar with trail and error but after 5 hours of trying it’s like okay I’ve tried everything twice over so i may as well ask for help and i don’t need an example file since I’m making small changes to the stock one i think the wiki just needs to be more straight forward and not assume everyone is a expert like “hey guys here’s how you commend or delete modules” i understand not everyone wants to explain things like its for a 5 year old but its really frustrating when every says “just read the wiki” and its like okay i did it failed to cover that and i can’t really assume how to do it based on the limited info that was there
Well i mean if they were a bit more informative in the wiki this could have taken 5 minutes so cool i know how to do it now can i have the other 5 hours and 55 minutes back lol i would also consider it a good learning experience but this is the first jsonc file I’ve ever had to touch and i doubt there will be any more with the way i usually set things up
Learning something new, something you’re not 100% familiar with takes time. This current world of immediate satisfaction we currently live in doesn’t translate well to Linux and .config or .jsonc. When I first started tinkering with Fastfetch, it took a while to understand things. And by “a while”, I mean days or a week. Not minutes or hours.
Oh i see i use nano because i like things simple
The sad thing is the only reason i started this is because i changed the terminal font and neofetch still shows the old font and it was bothering me why it wasn’t changing is beyond me if i look in the config it says source code pro yet when i run it it pops up monospace 12
Are you using Neofetch or Fastfetch??
I was using neofetch but switched to fastfetch becuase it wouldn’t change the “terminal font” section after i changed it so all i was trying to do was make my fasfetch look as close to neofetch
It took you six hours to realize you’re using Neofetch? So we can finally get started.
No you are misunderstanding i switched from neofetch to fastfetch because when i changed the terminal font it kept showing the wrong one in neo
Everything you have to do is to generate a fastfetch config.jsonc
You do thuis by running that command
fastfetch --gen-config
Whatever you set out to do, you can achieve it with our help
For me fasfetch is usually what i use for “fancy setups” for basic stuff i still use neo so long as it displays the correct info idk why but my xfce setup was already on source code pro but this i3 i just did went to monospace 12
I already have one that’s what i was editing and having trouble with
Unfortunately, I have something else to do right now. There are plenty of other people here who would be happy to help you. I’ll be back tomorrow.
I think its been solved no worries
