Plasma weather plasmoid

Got an error when trying to activate plasma weather in status and notification

file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.weather/contents/ui/main.qml:438:25: Type FullRepresentation unavailable

file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.weather/contents/ui/FullRepresentation.qml:38:24: Cannot assign object of type "QQC2.Action" to property of type "Action_QMLTYPE_124*" as the former is neither the same as the latter nor a sub-class of it.

If I delete these files, does plasma restore them automatically?
Does anyone know what should be in the lines?

@smokey A small step quicker  Thank you anyways :enos:

Thanks @Stefax2001 thats it. Then let’s wait for the bug to be fixed

My knowledge (and understanding) is very basic and I know you are asking specifically about that. I personally got that bug and then it got fixed I assumed after I updated.
However, if you check the bug tracker on the original (not duplicate) others have mentioned other problems and they all seem to be related to “Kirigami”.

My issue is after updating, if you go into settings, you have that QML error and cannot load some settings. Some old responses said to “install kirigami” but funnily enough, I have all of those installed.
I am afraid of deleting those and breaking the whole system, so I just reinstall without removing and it fixes it. I guess we’ll just have to wait until they fix it

got an answer on KDE Forum

It seems org.kde.plasma.extras is no longer compatible with QtQuick.Controls Action

So those PlaceholderMessage should be ported to Kirigami.PlaceholderMessage

I see. Where and how would we report that? Or can we simply “wait until they fix it”?

I actually just wanted to try out a new weather widget. Plasma weather does not work so now I use weather widget 3 I would never have realized that there was a issue

I wouldn’t have noticed if you didn’t ask which made me try it out

I wasn’t completely satisfied with the wunderground widget. That’s the only reason i came across it

In reference to Nate’s post on kdebugs:

Can you please make a backup of ~/.cache? After that, you can delete the contents of that folder, which will fix the issue.

Delete content of ~./cache then reboot.
This didnt fix it for me.

@smokey, do you have time to reproduce this again?

I will give it a go now. Get back to you shortly.

OK so I managed to get it working by enabling it, then deleting the cache and logging out than back in

That’s exactly what I’m going to try now.

I switched it off, deleted the cahe, restarted it, activated it and the error was still there. see you soon

Yer the first time I tried it I had the weather disabled and it didn’t work but when I did it with it enabled it did

Thats it @smokey , you’re my hero tonight

It worked by enabling first then delete the cache.

Your welcome, at least I was able to solve one puzzle today

And that was the most important puzzle today. Without you, I wouldn’t have a weather forecast but would have to look out of the window
