Plasma Wayland 6.7 low FPS in Games

Good day. I updated to KDE 6.7 and got low fps in any Steam games. Also now KDE toolbars have blur effects, but there is no option to set blurriness level in Desktop Effects option (although I have it on another laptop). Also Spectacle does not start at all (even when I try to start it via console. Not even any error appears), so I can not make any screenshots. Same problems for 6.7.1.
I am using integrated video acceleration (Intel Core i5-3230M).
All problems disappear, if I downgrade to 6.6.5 version.
Thats what packages I downgrade may be it will help:

So I installed another DE (Sway) and FPS is ok now. On KDE new bug, can not even logout, the window just does not appear.
Want to try to reset KDE to default settings. What folders and files do I need to delete to revert KDE like after fresh installation?

  1. Go to your .config folder (/home/your-user/.config)
  2. Create a folder elsewhere (we will use it as a backup), for example in /home/your-user/config-backup/.
  3. Search through the .config folder and copy the files of the apps you want to keep configuration (browsers, games, apps) of and copy them to the backup folder you created. NOTE: you don’t need to copy the configs of apps you uninstalled and don’t want to keep the configs of.
  4. Now you delete all the contents of the .config folder. (That’s why we have backed up the important configs)
  5. Copy back the configs from the backup folder to the now empty .config
  6. You’re done.

I prefer doing it this way because KDE doesn’t have a central directory to place things on, it instead places the configs all in different places (so you may see that there’s a KDE folder, an akonadi folder and a lot of scattered “rc” files of KDE apps). So it’s faster to backup the configs you want and just delete everything else.

Ok, resetting KDE to default settings did not help.
I noticed that, if I use KDE wayland, it uses llvm, but if I use KDE X-11, it uses Intel. Any way to diagnose why its happening like that?

That means that on Wayland your Intel Integrated Graphics are not working and you’re using software processing. But it’s fixable.

Post here the output of this command: pacman -Q mesa vulkan-intel intel-media-driver

This is for checking that you have some needed/reccomended packages to run the Intel Graphics in a Wayland session.

Well, an dual-core i5 mobile processor that shares it’s memory withe the iGPU.

Please take a look at how to include systemlogs in your post. And you should consider the switch to a lightweight DE/WM instead of KDE Plasma.

Downgrading that many packages isn’t the way to go, in my opinion.

If we figure out if Wayland works well with the Integrated Graphics, Budgie could be reccomended as it uses a Wayland session. But probably the processor won’t work well with Wayland and will need to use XFCE or others.

Not sure if it applies, but I’m finding degraded game performance if I’ve been watching a few videos first. When I reboot and start Steam right away, it’s much better.
