I also have an old amd gpu which works flawlessly under wayland and x11, so I don’t think the monitor is the problem here.

So looks like its running 1440P @ 120 Hz

Edit: I think i looked at this incorrectly. The * is at 143.91 so it must be running @ 144 Hz

It should be running at 144, at least that’s what the display configuration in plasma says.

Yes i have another system on amdgpu which also works flawlessly. But i don’t have any real issues with Nvidia on Wayland. There are sometimes some minor graphical glitches with it but nothing much.

It was also working pretty decently before the update to 555.58.02-1, I was using it the day before and I didn’t have all these issues. The only problem I had was slow performance in kwin.

I’m not entirely convinced Nvidia and Wayland are fully on speaking terms yet. Just for example, I enabled HDR under Wayland on our loungeroom gaming system, and now I get a hard lock if I login with Wayland.

The various offered solutions have failed to resolve it, but I’m happy to just use X11, at least for the time being.

(PS: DON’T ENABLE HDR) :grimacing:

Yeah I’m probably going to sell my Nvidia card and buy an Amd one, I’ll use my older Amd card in the mean time.

Yes

Captured footage of unsuspecting Nvidia users pushing the HDR button.

What Amd graphics cards are on your shopping list? I have an old Nvidia card which just doesn’t work with Wayland and if that’s the way we have to go with KDE then I’ll have to switch to Amd to be on the safe side.
