Plasma dies, black screen and back to SDDM

I have had this issue for few days, KDE randomly “dies” and goes to black screen and then it goes back to sddm.

I’m pretty sure this is something related to Nvidia drivers.

My device is Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15IHU6 laptop with RTX 3050.

Here’s a link to log from journalctl for everything that’s happened for the last hour.

please post logs using eos-sendlog and post the url here. I will not download a file from your proton drive.

@tommyp03, please do as @thefrog suggested. Nobody is going to download files from someone they don’t know and/or trust.

Hi all. Looks like I’m having a similar issue as described.

Here’s links to the commands requested.

The problem started right after I updated my system 3 days ago. On day 1 after the update, I was messing with Card-Forge when it started acting funny and then crashing, followed by Plasma showing no wallpaper nor UI (I can still see my other open apps, like a Terminal, Firefox, Kate, etc.) My monitor would go black, show open apps, go black, and then show apps again. Hot keys don’t work any more. This happened twice on day 1 with Card-Forge only, so I thought I had a new conflict to resolve later and moved on.

Today, day 3, I played a few hours of Helldivers 2. Upon quitting, so did Plasma with the same symptoms.

I can’t get this to reliably trigger, and it’s the third time to happen.
