Yes.
I would not remove it until you are are ready to move to the stable version in case there are updates.

ive been running the beta, wayland, for a couple of days now, no real issues and no more bugs than there always is in plasma

Right after the system wakes up, the desktop is no longer displayed for a moment right before the lock screen appears (Xaver Hugl, Plasma 5.26. Link)
