Hi,
I recently installed EndeavourOS (on a laptop) and can’t use at the same time the internal mic (above the screen) and my headphones. The jack is a TRRS/combo socket and my headphones are just plain, regular, TRS left-right headphones, so there’s no mic on them.
The internal mic works flawlessly (I hear and can be heard) without my headphones, but is unusable with them.
In fact, the system tries to receive audio from the jack/headphones, as if I had a TRRS plug in it. That makes both listening and recording impossible, as the sound the system receives is just hiss, and the sound it outputs at best is of very low quality, at worse don’t outputs anything.
I’m using pipewire
, and the major part of optional dependencies being installed :

I tried to tweak audio settings with both the Kde system settings and pavucontrol (sources, devices/cards) but can’t achieve to come up with any convincing results. I, like a lot of other topics (Arch, Endeavour, ’buntu, Reddit…) mentionned, this « Internal Microphone (unplugged) » entry. I remember to be able (on another machine) to use this entry with the same unplugged warning, however.
I know I did encounter this issue on another old laptop of mine running Arch a few years ago, but unable to remember if I did something to fix it, and if I did, what that was. It too had a combo jack, and I had the same headphones.
I came across a lot of topics about this but whether they didn’t match my case, were solved without solutions, or weren’t solved, they don’t seemed to help me.
Here are some logs I, each hidden between spoilers to keep the thing readable.
