Phun with chatGPT

I’ve been using ChatGPT a lot lately to help me with various things (especially conky on my work computer). Sometimes it can be really fun and just flow nicely. While this was a short chat I have found its ability to adapt to bring a smile to my face from time to time. This was one of those.

Listen up soldier. I need a terminal that is compatible with XFCE, supports image display (for fastfetch), as well as transparency. Give me a situation report, now.

Sir, yes sir! Here’s your situation report:

Mission: Find a terminal compatible with XFCE, supports image display (for Fastfetch), and handles transparency.

Assessment:

Compatible Terminal: You're looking for a terminal that works seamlessly in XFCE. I recommend Kitty—it's lightweight, fully supports image display (perfect for Fastfetch), and handles transparency without a hitch.

Transparency: Kitty has native support for transparency. Just configure the background_opacity option in kitty.conf. Here's an example:

background_opacity 0.9

This will give you near-perfect transparency, with control over the level of opacity.

Image Display: Kitty supports image rendering directly in the terminal, which works perfectly for Fastfetch to display system stats with an image.

Recommendation: Kitty terminal meets all your operational requirements. It’s sleek, fast, and supports the image display you need for Fastfetch and your transparency needs.

Mission complete. Over and out!

That’s amazing

LLMs are pretty good with things that are documented decently well. I use them sometimes too, but I try to not lean on them too much, as they can always halluciate or don’t provide the full context and in general I think it will be better for me to also do my own research, even if I don’t usually do a very good job at it.

The way it adopted your in-jest language style (“soldier!”) is pretty funny
