Photos you've taken

It was about 20°F last night when I took that picture. Tonight it’s supposed to go down to -1°F with a high temp of 12°F tomorrow.

First photo with the new lens?

No, not this one. This was taken a few days before i got the new lens. I haven’t unfortunately been on some “photo walks” with it yet but I have tried it at home taking photos of my people and objects. I am rather pleased with the results and in low light condition it outperforms the kit lens that Canon ships with its APS-C camera lineup.

If I had the money, I would have gone for:

instead but this one would have cost me almost the double where I live with a comparatively small market and not that much of a competition.

We got a lot of snow yesterday (around 4 inches) So I have my porch area closed off however it would appear that a little bird has taken refuge in there. (It finally flew out as I was typing this)

A lot of snow… LoL. At 300 inches per year plus, thats funny. On topic though; poor bird was probably just confused…..

Yup, I hate shoveling snow.

Not from this year, it was a few winters ago.
So far, the Snow Pack in the mountains is way below normal, and we could use some snow.

This is sick as

Luck or not you had the sense to keep it and recognise its beauty

Now I think of dinner (it’s 10:30ish PM) go Trinity treats and something special but forgot to get me something, might get a curry soon

well in your area that is just a snow driftl. In myne its a major storm :joy:

I have a cabinet out there on the porch that a couple of birds used last year to nest in so I was thinking maybe trying to do that again. However there was no nest in there.

lol, I’d be more than happy to share some. We’re near the Great Lakes so get “lake effect snow” regularly. We’re just getting going so hopefully I remember to post some pics to this thread. I find it interesting the variety around the world.

I really like the composition of your photos, none of them are awful. Whether it be you plan them or there’s a smattering of luck and you have the eye to take advantage of the situation. I hope this doesn’t offend you but they have a professional stock photo vibe about them.

@kokochu
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your feedback and comments. It means that I am not totally out of my depth when it comes to taking some snapshots.

I have to admit that, apart from the taking of some occasional mobile phone photos, I have relatively recently picked up photography as a more “serious” hobby and got myself an entry level system camera just a few months ago.

So I believe that a combination of what you described above apply to my photoshooting which I would describe as rather intuitive. For now I just try to follow my intuition and gut feelings to see what is out there which draws my attention to it.

Not at all. On the contrary. I take it as a compliment and also encouragement to keep doing what I am doing and to hopefully to get better at it with time.

So with all that said, I would like to add that I am totally open for any sort of critique and feedback you and other people following this thread could give me. I am not posting my photos on other platforms and I don’t have many occasions to get feedback besides from some family members and friends but those tend to be quite kind and gentle in their critique.
