It’s amazing how wild creatures often come to humans for help; one would think it’d be the opposite after all those previous generations where humans were so cruel.
A few years back, I saw this one on a nearby wall:
… Seemed exhausted, and couldn’t fly back up to the nest high in the nearby tree (across the main road). So, after I’d nipped in to grab my camera and a bag with some seeds in, I offered my hand and the bird hopped straight on.
I put this little one on top of a box stacked in the entry for the night (was worried about the neighbourhood cats), with said seeds (and IIRC a bit of water), then the next morning went in, bird hopped back on my hand and I proceeded to take him up the road and run with him, whilst raising my arm at the point I thought appropriate. (I was rather fitter back then). Took a few runs, but he made it. 
All the time, the parents were above, watching the proceedings.
That reminds me of many years ago, when a pair of blackbirds made a nest on top of the old boiler vent, which was in use. I didn’t want to run a bath for fear of steaming the nest too much so went up the road and used my Mum’s. Short runs for the sink taps (faucets) didn’t seem to bother them.
There were four eggs; three hatched and fledged. Pity I don’t think I have any photos, as I could see straight into the nest from the back bedroom window.
I was away on a trip for a couple of weeks, so missed the hatching. The little ones did stay around for a good while.
They were quite happy with me sitting in the back yard and would often be on the wall right next to me; guess they felt safe.

Probably going to dry them.
Freezing is pretty effective as well. I have several containers. They keep practically forever, unless you’re like me and rather fond of them.
Have you managed to grow any from the seeds? I tried, but without success.
All three of them were grown from seed. I had one start in dirt and the other two started in the Hydro system. They are so good. I have 2 Jalapeno plants and 1 cayenne pepper plant. I live in an RV and don’t have a freezer I could store long term stuff in. That is why I was going to dry them. Some to make pepper with others for stews.
Do you ever let your jalapeños fully ripen (become red)?
I let some of them ripen before I freeze them and use those first. The rest (at least some of them) will gradually ripen, even while frozen, which I find a bit surprising.
Is that a death bird below ?
